When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions or NASA's Greatest Missions: When We Left Earth in the UK is a Discovery Channel HD documentary miniseries consisting of six episodes documenting American human spaceflight, spanning from the first Mercury flights through the Gemini program to the Apollo moon landings, the Space Shuttle, and the construction of the International Space Station. It was created in association with NASA to commemorate the agency's fiftieth anniversary in 2008. It first aired on June 8, 2008, and concluded on June 22. Each airing consisted of two hour-long episodes. The miniseries was released on DVD on July 10, 2008, and was released on Blu-ray disc on August 12. The third episode, "Landing the Eagle", was re-aired on July 20, 2009 for the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. It featured improved images from the moonwalk.
NASA 360 is a half-hour vodcast developed by NASA in partnership with the National Institute of Aerospace. The show premiered in August 2008. It has aired on more than 450 TV stations across the country, is available on air and cruise lines, and is consistently one of the top-downloaded programs on the NASA.gov website. It is currently starting its fifth season.

The series was written by Marko Pokorn, Rok Vilčnik and Branko Đurić - Đuro, who also directed the series. The show won four viktors for best played TV series. In Slovenia, it was the most watched TV series in 2007 season and some seasons before.

The series looks at NASA's early history, the triumphs and disasters, notably the Apollo 1 fire, through to the manned Moon missions and the Space Shuttle era. The show includes various interviews with astronauts and NASA personnel such as Chris Kraft, Jon Clark, Leroy Cain, Scott Carpenter, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, both crew members of Apollo 11. The show was broadcast in the United Kingdom and Germany in June and July 2009.
