Veterans Day 2012

Thank you, Veterans!

Never can enough thanks be given for the sacrifices made by servicemen and women and their families. We honor them today and remind ourselves that their commitment and courage is never to be taken for granted or forgotten.

At this very moment, while some of you are preparing for church, getting ready to sit down for some football, or tending to your Sunday chores, there are men and women thousands of miles away putting it all on the line for us.

They’re rubbing the sand out of their eyes, trying to stay alert, scared (but brave), homesick, wondering if you’re thinking about them, and hoping for a letter from home today.

Don’t take them for granted… especially today.

Happy Veteran’s Day to all that serve and sacrifice.

    Thanks Chuck for putting this up…I have had family service from what I know of… ww1 till today….my grandfather was award the silver Star…Purple heart with 13 clusters (he was shot 13 times) he also rec’d the French Medal of honor……there is a funny story about him (not so funny then) his family was told he was dead and one day he just came walking up…my understanding is there were some very shocked people..God Bless all that wear the uniform….

    On Veterans day 2004 we lost my nephew Justin Reppuhn in during the surge in Iraq. He was had just turned 20 years old and hit a land mine. He was in the Marines. When I met Sarah your sister at the Indianola Iowa we talked about him and Sarah looked me right in the eye’s and asked what branch he was in and then what happened mind you this was in the rope line after her great speech. Sarah was so caring and deeply moved she gave me a hug. God bless the Heath and Palin families. Thank you Chuck Jr. for your moving post today.     people like me who did serve..don’t need people like you chucky
    telling us what a great job we did..when did any of your family serve? track or jail?

    for all the mouthing off you people do, your family comes up very short in service to the country

    and spare me your claim to fame your sister
