Diminishing Our Own
When I woke up this morning, I read an article about our current administration’s lies concerning the Benghazi fiasco. It’s obvious by now that that our intelligence agencies and everyone in the White House knew that the attack was a coordinated, well-orchestrated operation meant to humiliate us on the anniversary of 9/11, and it had nothing to do with a lousy movie that only 19 people had bothered to watch on Youtube. The concocted story that was so eloquently orated to us by our Commander in Chief, blew up when our ambassador’s diary revealed that he and others had sent out numerous messages warning of an impending attack.
Why is this such an issue now? Because it undermines everything our military personnel are putting their lives on the line for. When Tyrone Woods disobeyed orders and put his own life on the line to go in and save others at the embassy, as he was intensely trained to do, he should have had the reassurance to know that our jets, with their pinpoint laser-guided missiles and smart technology, would be there to bail him out. Instead, he fought his ass off for seven hours while people in the Situation Room watched it all go down in real time. It reminded me of the new Bourne Identity movie, where when something in government doesn’t go the way it’s planned, great people become expendable. No wonder Tyrone’s father is speaking out! I admire him for saying that he was willing to forgive those that he holds responsible for his son’s death. I don’t know if I’d have the strength to do the same thing.
Ask the soldiers in your own circle how they feel about it.
From today’s NYPost.com’s editorial “Benghazi’s Invisible Man: Media ignore Charles Woods’ Benghazi questions”:
Charles Woods is the invisible man.
Indeed, the father of former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods — slain this past Sept. 11 while trying to defend Ambassador Chris Stevens and others under terrorist attack at the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya — was nowhere to be seen on the many Sunday morning TV talk shows.
As a matter of fact, you’d have been hard put to even hear the word “Benghazi” mentioned at all on those same programs. And when it was, it was invariably raised by Republicans — and just as quickly shot down by most of the allegedly unbiased moderators. “Charlie Woods? Who’s he?”
But he’s the fellow who’s been asking some pretty pointed questions of this administration about the circumstances surrounding his son’s murder. He doesn’t accept the excuses being offered by everyone from the president on down.
Woods’ misfortune is that his son was killed under a Democratic administration. And it’s considered neither polite nor acceptable to question the competence of Democrats — especially this Democrat.…
Obama & Co. claim they’re intent on getting to the bottom of what happened in Benghazi. But until the election is over, that means not a word’s to be heard from them or their enablers.
And to hell with Charlie Woods.
From yesterday’s Rush Limbaugh’s show, a quote from Pat Caddell, former pollster for the Democrats and Jimmy Carter:
I am appalled right now. This White House, this president, this vice president, the secretary of state, all of them are willing apparently to dishonor themselves and this country for the cheap prospect of getting reelected, willing to cover up and lie, and the worst thing is, the very people who are supposed to protect the American people and the truth, the leading mainstream media, they have become a threat, a fundamental threat to American democracy and the enemies of the American people. What I saw with Ty Woods’ father and family and the outrage I feel for my country and the shame that these people have no honor, and when will people finally say it? Cover-up is too nice a word, and the media is the one that it’s worse on.
